Sources & Ethics
These are the desk’s publishing rules. They are our own standards, not legal advice and not a promise about any particular dispute. The disclaimer says what the reporting is not. Corrections says how to fix a fact.
Sources
Every factual claim in a published article cites a named, linkable source in the sentence it supports. The source should be a primary document or a reputable publisher: the official timetable or classification, the FIA, a team, or the outlet that reported the fact. The sources list at the bottom repeats those pages with a title, a URL, a publisher, and a date.
We do not invent quotes, numbers, prices, dates, or events. If a figure is not in a source, it stays out. Wording is our own. A quote from a source is brief, and it is attributed.
Team statements and press releases are reported as the team’s own account (“X says,” “according to X”). Driver market reports from other outlets are attributed to that outlet and labeled as reports until a team confirms them. Articles say which is which.
People and companies
We do not state or imply that a named person or company did something wrong unless an authoritative source says so. When that source says so, the article attributes it, with words such as “according to” or “alleged,” and it links the source. We do not speculate about a person’s motive, health, finances, or private conduct. When a passage is in doubt, we leave it out.
Opinion, analysis, and speculation
News is sourced fact. Opinion, analysis, and speculation are labeled at the top of the article. A label is not a substitute for the sources under the facts inside the piece.
Images
Pictures are original abstract illustrations made for the site. They do not show real people, real cars or real events, and they carry no official logos or team marks. A licensed or third party photo, if used, is credited with its source and license. The details are on the disclaimer.
Advice
Articles are not health, legal, or financial advice, and they are not instructions for a repair or an investment. Nothing on the site is a guarantee of an outcome. Where a story touches health, law, or money, it carries a short disclaimer and still cites the underlying source. Confirm anything that matters with that source or with a qualified professional.
Corrections and contact
A published article shows a Last updated date. That date is updatedAt in the file, and it is dateModified in the page’s structured data. Send a correction through the contact page. We do not publish a street address.
